Hometown Security's management team is comprised of efficient and knowledgeable professionals from various business and law enforcement backgrounds who will help assist you with your security needs. Our law enforcement staff has a vast knowledge of security procedures and applications and the unique ability to mold these to our customer's needs. With over 100 combined years of law enforcement, military, forensics and private investigative backgrounds, we are able to ensure the most secure setting for your location. We are experienced in providing you and your employees/patrons with the comfort level you need and desire.
Hometown Security LLC is licensed and bonded and serves the New Jersey metro community. Uniformed and non-uniformed security patrol officers protect retailers, hotels, construction sites, houses of worship, private residences and public gatherings, deterring un-authorized persons from entering your premises. Each client's needs are evaluated and services are tailor-made to fit their specific requirements. Superior service is provided by screened and experienced personnel in a cost-effective manner. Many of our security guards are retired law enforcement personnel. Our private investigation division offers services for businesses, attorneys, forensic accountants and individuals.
Executive Team:
Joseph King, Partner
Mr. King began his police career in Union City, NJ in 1972, after serving in the U.S. Military in Korea, and rose to the position of Sergeant, from which he retired in 1996. In addition to his police training, Mr. King has obtained numerous certifications and completed a vast array of specialty courses throughout his career, at various colleges, Police Academies and the FBI. While in Union City, he instituted a number of well-respected federally funded programs, including the first Victim Assistance Service Center in New Jersey, as well as several programs geared towards juveniles, including an elementary school "Officer Friendly" program, a Police Explorer Program, and a "National Night Out" program, among others.
Mr. King is a certified SORA instructor and a Licensed Casino Security Officer. He is an active member of many professional organizations including various PBA's, NJ Crime Prevention Officers Assoc. and the Police Honor Legion of NJ, from which he has received numerous awards, citations and commendations. Mr. King is a founding partner of Hometown Security.
Martin Pinck, Partner
Mr. Pinck, a founding partner of Hometown Security, has over 35 years experience in sales and marketing, with a customer base throughout the United States, as well as Mexico and Puerto Rico. He has been Vice-President and Principal Owner of various manufacturing companies with sales in the multi-millions of dollars. In addition to his proven track record within the business community, Mr. Pinck has a long history of association with volunteer and non-profit organizations. His extensive involvement with the security and facility operations at his own religious organization prompted his interest in utilizing his business acumen in the areas of personal and community security concerns.
Michael H Dobin, Partner
Mr. Dobin, a founding partner of Hometown Security, has spent 35 years in the Financial Services Industry, serving as Director at CS First Boston, Managing Director at Cantor Fitzgerald, Senior Vice-President at Lehman Brothers, and Director at Charles Schwab Capital Markets. In these positions, Mr. Dobin has performed numerous duties including sales, budgeting, planning, business development, accounting and compliance. He is a Registered Financial Advisor with Valic.
Richard Porter, Director of Private Investigations
Mr. Porter, our director of private investigative services, has over 25 years experience in the investigative field. After receiving a B.B.A. from St. Peter's College in Jersey City in 1980, Mr. Porter began his career as an insurance claims adjuster. His responsibility began with workmen's compensation claims and then grew to automobile, homeowners and general and commercial liability claims handling. His supervisory and management skills have enabled him to open his own business where he dealt with investigations and trial preparation covering, but not limited to: subpoena services, preparing witnesses for trial and conducting surveillance while working closely with legal counsel and insurance companies.

Paul Kelly
Paul Kelly began his career as a police officer in 1959 and continued advancing through the ranks, becoming Chief of Police in 1990 for the Union City, NJ Police Department, the 10th largest police department in New Jersey. He holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Seton Hall University, and has completed numerous training programs with the State Police, FBI Academy at Quantico, Va., as well as a course in Security Administration and Management with NJ State University. Mr. Kelly has served as Security Supervisor for various organizations and institutions, including the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and is a Certified Instructor with the NJ Police Training Commission. He is currently an officer of the Union City PBA Officers Assoc., NJ Crime Prevention Assoc., NJ State Chiefs of Police Assoc. - Crime Prevention Committee (Chair), Int. Assoc. Chiefs of Police, and other professional organizations.
